MANOEL ISLAND

Manoel Island National Park is envisioned as Malta’s Park for Wellbeing, transforming the island into a public landscape shaped by nature, heritage, and everyday experience. Rather than treating the site as a destination or attraction, the proposal focuses on the journey through the landscape, encouraging slow exploration through a network of thematic pathways. The design seeks to return Manoel Island to the public through a strategy of minimal intervention. Rather than imposing heavily designed landscapes, this approach emphasises the restoration of the island’s inherent character.
